About Me
Kasra Rowshan, M.D., is a highly trained orthopedic spine surgeon with a strong foundation in both clinical care and academic research. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees with honors from the University of California, Irvine, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and served as Chief Resident. During his time at UC Irvine, Dr. Rowshan conducted research at the esteemed Christopher Reeve-Irvine Research Center.
Following residency, Dr. Rowshan pursued advanced fellowship training in spinal surgery under the mentorship of internationally recognized spine surgeons Frank Eismont, M.D. and Barth Green, M.D. at the University of Miami. He further specialized in pediatric scoliosis and spinal deformities while working with Harry Shufflebarger, M.D., a leader in the field.
Dr. Rowshan’s clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of spinal care, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery, spinal trauma, spinal cord tumors, degenerative spine conditions, complex instrumentation, pediatric scoliosis, and minimally invasive spine procedures.
A passionate researcher, Dr. Rowshan is widely published in peer-reviewed journals, including the prestigious Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. His research focuses on minimally invasive techniques and basic science, with particular interest in percutaneous instrumentation for spine trauma, degenerative conditions, and tumors. His findings have been presented at numerous national and international conferences, and his work has received recognition through competitive grants and awards.
Dr. Rowshan has authored multiple book chapters on topics such as minimally invasive lumbar surgery and degenerative cervical spine disease. His ongoing research includes a forthcoming article on the diagnosis of Broken Heart Syndrome—an extremely rare and potentially fatal condition in orthopedic patients.
