Prescription Medication Refills

Please note that prescriptions are not refilled after regular business hours, on weekends, or holidays. Prescriptions require 24-48 hours notice for refills. Regular business hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am until 5:00pm.

1. In order to keep thorough documentation, and a consistent plan in place, patients are asked to have their pharmacy fax over request for refill of prescription medication(s) to 817-282-7934 .
2. Medications may be filled for up to three months after a physician appointment unless specifically documented by the physician for a longer amount of time in the patient's chart.
3. If the patient is requesting to change pharmacies, the original pharmacy must be contacted to ensure that the patient is eligible for a refill of medicine before calling in to the new pharmacy.
4. Request for refill of medications will be addressed by Orthopedic Institute of Texas staff within 48 business hours.
5. Refills may be given no more than two business days early to allow time for approval from insurance companies and adjusters.
